73年から長く音楽活動を続けているアーティスト、ブライアン・イーノ。
講師、視覚的アーティスト、作家、政治活動家、未来科学者、そして音楽家という
様々な顔を持っている。
14 Video Paintingsは80年代初頭にアートギャラリーの展示のために
創られた。
"Mistaken Memories of Mediaeval Manhattan"と、"Thursday Afternoon"
という2つの作品からなっており、DVDとしてアメリカで発売された。
(and Mistaken Memories of Mediaeval Manhattanはマンハッタンの都市の情景
が描かれる後ろで、イーノのアルバムであるOn LandとMusic For Airports、
リリースされていない音源が流れる。
Thursday Afternoonでは同名のアルバムが流れ、人物の描写がされている。
14 Video Paintings is comprised of two separate works (" and created in the early 80s by Brian Eno for art gallery exhibition only. Available for the first time on DVD, viewers are presented with a series of slowly evolving "video paintings," with "Thursday Afternoon" focusing on the human figure and "Mistaken Memories" on the Manhattan skyline. The music for "Thursday Afternoon" is a different version than what appears on Enos album of the same name, while the music that accompanies "Mistaken Memories" comes from two of his acclaimed ambient albums (On Land and Music For Airports) and features an unreleased track.
